DMS students enjoyed an informative, entertaining, and inspiring assembly presented by author Ty Drago early this month. Writing workshops were also conducted in many English Language Arts classes during the day by this enthusiastic author.

Delsea Regional High School is planning their annual Achievement Night and Renaissance People’s Choice Awards for Wednesday, May 22. The Renaissance People’s Choices awards will take place from 5:00– 6:00 pm in the high school auditorium. Delsea Middle School welcomes Cherry Hill native Ty Drago on May 3rd. Mr. Drago will be holding a presentation for our student body, followed by his conducting of writing workshops in some classes. Mr. Drago is the author of the horror-science fiction series called The Undertakers. His first two books Rise of the Corpses ($8.00) and Queen of the Dead ($7.00), are available for purchase during lunch periods outside the cafeteria.

It's Time to Make Your Dreams Come True!
Prom tickets are on sale NOW during lunch periods. They are $70.00 each and will be sold until Friday, May 17th. This year's prom theme is Once Upon A Time. The prom will take place at Lucien's Manor in Berlin, NJ on Thursday, May 23rd from 6:30 to 10:30. Pre-prom will occur from 4:30 to 6:00 pm. Formal pictures will be taken at pre-prom only. Please make sure you pick up your picture form when you purchase your tickets.
Car Accident Reenactment

On Monday, April 29th at 3:00 pm in the student parking lot, Delsea HS Advanced Theater Classes will be participating in a reenactment of a reckless driving accident, which will include fire trucks, ambulances, police and a helicopter. Please note this is a training exercise.

On Monday, March 18th, Delsea Regional High School District was officially announced as one of the 307 school districts given the distinction of being one of the Best Communities for Music Education in America for 2013! ROTC Air Rifle Team

On Saturday 16 March 2013, the Delsea Regional High School Junior ROTC air rifle team traveled to Seaford High School to participate in the 2013 Delaware State Air Rifle Championship. Although not eligible for their state title, the Delsea A team consisting of cadets Ginneane Folcarelli, Joey Delgiorno, Lauren Thorpe, and Alicia Pugliese beat the Delaware State Champion team of Delaware Military Academy by 171 points.

The Delsea Regional High School Drama Club is proud to present All Shook Up at 7 p.m. on March 14 and March 15 and at 1 p.m. and 7 p.m. on March 16. This year’s musical highlights the music of Elvis with a twisted love story set in the 1950s. Tickets are $10 sold in advance. Additionally, tickets are $8 with a nonperishable food donation on March 16th at 1 PM show only. Food donations will benefit the Emmanuel Cancer Foundation. Middle School Joe Corbi Pizza Sale

All students in the MS are selling Joe Corbi Pizza Kits. The money earned will go toward the cost of the Class Trip to Tall Pines. Any student who sells 4 kits will have the total trip cost paid. Otherwise, the trip will cost $20 but students can still earn $5 for every kit sold. The sale will run until February 5th. Delivery will be on February 27 between 2:30 and 6:00 pm. Since these items must stay frozen, please make arrangement for pick-up since we do not have access to refrigeration.

Project P.R.I.D.E.

On January 9, 2013, Project P.R.I.D.E., a community outreach program of the New Jersey Department of Corrections that spreads awareness of the prison system, promotes responsible citizenship and reduces the appeal of drug and alcohol use will do two assemblies for all students.
Volunteer prison inmates will share their stories about prison life and the decisions they made that got them there. The goal of the program is to keep children away from drugs and alcohol and educate them about how to make smart choices.

On September 28,. 2012 Steven Bollar better known as "Stand Tall Steve" will kick-off our Olweus Bullying and Prevention Program. He will use his life experiences to instill students with self-esteem and team pride that can translate into academic excellence. The overall program is designed to be integrated into the school's daily routine. Parents and community members are welcome to attend, however, space is limited. On September 28, 2012 our students will be participating in a series of events and activities throughout the day, which will include an assembly being presented by "Stand Tall Steve." The Board of Review, convened pursuant to NJSA 18A:13-56 to consider the petition of Franklin Township (Gloucester) to proceed to referendum on a withdrawal from Delsea Regional School District, will meet and hold a public hearing onWednesday, August 15, 2012 from 3:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. in the auditorium of the Gloucester County Vocational-Technical School, 1340 Tanyard Road, Sewell, NJ. 08080. The board will hear comments from the interested parties and individual community members.
Individual community members wishing to provide comments at the public hearing will be required to sign up in advance. The sign-up sheets will be available beginning at 3:15 p.m. No formal action will be taken at the hearing. The Board of Review will also accept written comments at the hearing and by e-mail to commissioner@doe.state.nj.us until 5:00 p.m. on August 15. All written comments must include the commenter’s full name and municipality of residence.

African American History Month

Among the activities planned to highlight African American History Month at Delsea Regional will be a program entitled, "The Promise." The stage play uses the landmark decision of Brown vs. The Board of Education and the birth of Motown Records to educate students on the significant history of these events. Due to the elementary schools having half days on Monday and Tuesday, November 21st and 22nd, several of our afternoon buses are going to be late. This is going to occur at both the Middle School and the High School. Most buses will be arriving 5 to 15 minutes late. Some may be up to 30 minutes late. The students on these late buses will be notified on Monday and Tuesday but if you could assist in reminding your child of the bussing situation for Monday and Tuesday we would be grateful. The Delsea Middle School girls’ 4x100 relay team finished second in the South Jersey Middle School Relay recently at the Penn Relays at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia. Team members Kelsea Casselle, Asya Alba, Tori Miller and Jenna Cali completed the race in a time of 53.93 seconds which was good enough to

Congratulations to the members of the Delsea HS Girls Spring Track and Field team. The 4x400 team placed second in the 4x400 Philadelphia Area relay at the Penn Relays on Saturday on April 30th, 2011, Breaking Delsea's previous 4x400 in 3.54.74 This time is remarkable. The members of the 4x400 team are: Felicia O'Donnell, Ashley Woodards, Lateaque Jackson, and Brianna Crofton.

ShoeMan Project Success

Thanks to the amazing support from the administration, staff, students, families & friends, the Key Club was able to collect close to 3000 pairs of shoes for the ShoeMan Project. So many of you went out of your way doing the rounds collecting from your own family, friends, & neighbors. Your support for this project was truly overwhelming.

The 2011 Mr. Delsea winner is Mr. September- Paul Roysdon! The "People's Choice" winner was also Paul and the "Charity Collection" winner was Alex Garbarino! The show was a great success, as the candidates collected a total of $1200 for The National Brain Tumors Association and the Alzheimer's Association! GREAT JOB!!!!
